The renovation to this single-fronted brick residence provides more

light and space to the compact home for a young family of four.

Two distinctly new elements comprise the design: a pop-out bedroom to

the former driveway to the north and a slender laundry, bathroom and

storage extension encased in a “folded” form on the southern boundary.

Both elements work to increase useable garden and yard space whilst

facilitating an improved aspect to the living areas of the house.

By reallocating the use of space and rooms within the existing house,

costs have been minimised. Reused materials including bricks from the old

house to recycled timber cladding, provide texture and character.
